No Johnny Come Lately

Wild Bores is singer/songwriter John Whildin and friends, the musical amalgamation bringing his songbook to life. When asked where the name came from, Whildin says, "Life is a series of 'wild bores.' It reminds me not to take things too seriously. Just keep pluggin' away and don’t worry about the rest."

The music of Wild Bores is traditional power pop created from a broad palette of light and color, the sounds of multiple decades, and impressionist lyrics. The tunes are alternately humorous, melancholy, uplifting, and poignant. Whildin's warm and honest vocal style connects with the listener, providing a strong sense of familiarity.

Whildin will support the release of "We Think Alike", the new album from Wild Bores, with solo and full-band performances in in 2010. He is also writing and recording the follow up album scheduled for release early next year.

Before becoming Wild Bores, Whildin attended the DePaul University School of Music. There he co-founded the techno-rock group Tic Tah, "Star Search" alums and frequent Chicago Metro headliners. His outstanding keyboard and guitar work later landed him a spot with Midwest college favorites Odd Man Out. It was during the OMO years that Whildin began writing his own songs and shaping the sound of Wild Bores.
